Sharpie Lies!

Who doesn't love a sharpie? They have great colours and they work on everything, and overall they are great pens.

But when it came to the time to do my back to school shopping this year, I was confronted with a dilemma when it came to highlighters. 

Do I go for the cheapskate tesco value ones or do I splash out a bit and treat myself to the £4 (!!!!) pricy special sharpie highlighters?

I went for the sharpie ones in the end, mainly because they had sold out of the value ones. But also because I wanted to see how the other half live!

 

 

And I've got to tell you, I've have been VERY disappointed! Seriously, for something that you would think is actually quite good, it isn't particularly.

 

Firstly, there are the colours. 

 

I'm sorry, but that orange is... not nice.

 

Bring back the neon!

 

But the thing that really annoys me about these highlighters is that they lie to me! They are branded as special smear free highlighters, and I thought good, because my old ones always left streaks all over the show.

 

But, today when I was highlighting some homework (we're doing a topic on the roles of men and women in religion if you were interested) they left smears EVERYWHERE! 

I had great fun trying to get the black out of the yellow

 

All over my work (and my pen nib) there are black smudges where the so called smear guard didn't work! 

 

And it's written on the pen as well! smear guard is on every single one of the pens, and it taunts me!

 

It's like it is deliberately laughing at me!

 

I'm sorry sharpie, I love your normal pens but seriously, get it together with your highlighters, because I am very disappointed in you. Next year I'm going to buy the 6-for-£1 ones I had last year.

 

I cannot tell you how much better I feel for getting that off my chest. I think that I should just take one day every week where I rant about things that irritate me, because I'm sure you can relate. If you have ever been lied to by a trusted pen manufacturer, or if anything has annoyed you recently, please let me know, because I might just decide to steal it for next week!
