Not very long ago, I wrote a post about the books I read growing up, in which I mentioned the rainbow magic fairy books.
Now, I have one friend who faithfully reads my blog everyday (let's call her Karina) and she came into school the next day and talked to me about it.
And then she asked: what are the rainbow magic books?
...
............
I mean, seriously?
How could anybody ever in the whole entire universe not know the rainbow magic series?!?
When I was little, it was almost like a competition. You were always competing with your friends over who had the most and who had read the newest one and who had one named after them.
Every single book shop you go into, there is a whole wall devoted to rainbow magic.
Granted, Karina isn't the most girly girl in the world, but how could that whole essential part of childhood just have been skipped?
I'm very sorry, it sounds like I'm getting at my friend here, and I promise that I'm not, but I was just so so so surprised.
I asked around all of my friends, and every single one of the had read them.
I went to lots of other girls and even the most tomboyish tomboys had read or at least heard of them.
I just couldn't believe that something that is that widely known amongst pretty much everyone could completely have skipped Karina.
I don't even own them anymore so I can't lend her one! (Much to her obvious disappointment!)
So, Karina, as you are pretty the only person whose ever going to read this ever, I think you know what your next birthday present will be! And please don't stop reading my blog! I love you really, even though I'm slightly disgusted!
I'm sorry that this has been a short one, I've been quite busy recently, but I've got some good posts planned!
See you soon!
