Foundation of the month - September

Foundation: X-Ceptional Wear Foundation
Brand: Gosh
My shade: Natural (12)
Price (from Superdrug): £7.99
My rating out of 10: 7

For the month of September (and July and August) I have been using this foundation that I haven't ever heard that much about, but I was quite intrigued by because I had never used a Gosh foundation before and it is also on the cheaper end of what you would probably expect to pay for a foundation.

I used it with my Rimmel Fix and Perfect Pro primer and my Real Techniques Expert Face brush, and I have got to say that I really like it!

When I first bought it, I was a little concerned about how small the bottle is. Sure, £7.99 isn't much to spend on a foundation, but it becomes a lot more when you're having to buy a new one every week. However, I was almost shocked at how well it has lasted me. I have used it for just over three months practically every day, and only now is it beginning to feel empty. As long as you don't use ridiculous amounts, this is a foundation that will last you a very long time.

As for the coverage, that is also pretty good. It covers my redness and blemishes pretty well, and when I'm doing my makeup in the not so great morning light, my skin looks really good. It blends really well with my concealer as well, although most days I don't bother with concealer and just wear this.

However, the thing that this foundation advertises its self as (a long lasting foundation) is actually the bit that trips it up a bit. Although the staying power is a lot better than many others that I have tried, especially with the primer, by the time I have got home there isn't a huge amount left.

Although, I would normally consider this to be a heavier, gloopier foundation, it is incredibly light and airy on my face, and I probably wouldn't know that I was wearing a foundation, so good for all year.

Lastly, the packaging... is not great. In a way though, I do sort of like that because it shows that you are paying for the product and not anything else, and that is part of the reason why it is cheaper but still very good.

Overall, I do really like this foundation, it gives a good coverage and is light, but not very long lasting, which is what it is advertised as. I would recommend it for someone who just wants a reliable foundation that will last a while. I will be repurchasing it when it runs out, which I fear may be soon! *sob sob*

See you soon!
