Foundation of the month - October

Foundation: Rimmel Wake Me Up
Brand: Rimmel London
My shade: Ivory (100)
Price (from Superdrug): £8.99
Rating: 7.5/10

For the month of October, I was trying the very highly recommended Wake Me Up foundation. Everyone who has spoken about this has said that it is probably their favourite high street foundation, so I was going in with possibly unrealistically high expectations.
Because of this, at first I was quite disappointed, but by the end of the month I had actually grown to like it quite a lot. Do I think that it deserves all of the hype it gets? No, not particularly.

Thinking back, the thing that I remember from the first time I applied it was that it was quite hard to work into the skin, and it took a while to get rid of the brush marks. This got better as I got used to it, and I also learnt to not put so much on. (I try to use one pump, and a teensy bit more if I need it!)

I think that the reason that everybody loves it is because of it's coverage, which I have to admit, is really very good. I covered my problem areas and it made my skin look very natural. It is quite a heavy foundation, so I'd recommend it more for winter. Sadly though, it didn't last for very long. It didn't go patchy, it just kind of faded all over. By the end of the day it was still there, but it was pretty much see through.
Lastly, my absolutely favourite thing about this foundation is that it's SPARKLY! As it is a special anti-fatigue foundation, I think it designed to illuminate your face, but I love it. I sparkle!!! I actually don't know how effective it is on my face, but where there is still traces of it on the back on my hand, it's all glittery!
As for the packaging, I actually really like it, but I'm always very wary around glass bottles, because I feel that if I drop it, it would shatter and just go everywhere. However, it has been dropped many times, and it's still in perfect condition.
I hope this helps you, I did enjoy using this foundation and I think that I will repurchase it, but there is still plenty left in the bottle.
See you soon!
