I'm addicted to floorplans.

You may not know this about me, but I am a huge fan of interior design. I love designing rooms and I actually made my own portfolio (impressive or what!?) I also spend about 87% of my time on my right move app (because I'm just that sad.) And today, I came to the realisation that I have a problem. The first step to solving a problem is admitting to it, so here goes.
I am addicted to floorplans.

I'm just going to let that sink in for a moment.

All sunken in? No? A few more lines, then I'll talk.

Right, now you should be completely ready to hear about this. Basically, whenever I look at houses on right move or whatever, the first thing before I look at anything else whatsoever, I go straight onto the floorplan. I refuse to even consider thinking about looking at something, unless it has a floorplan and I just don't know why! I must have some kind of weird thing in my brain (but, we already knew that) and I love looking at floorplans and just imaging walking around the house, going into each of the rooms, working out where I would put all of my stuff and how absolutely amazing it would look.

I am also a major day dreamer, and I constantly have my head in the clouds, dreaming about the day that I'll have a family and I'll be able to buy my own house and play with it to my hearts content (not in a weird way though...) I literally can see myself repainting all the rooms every couple of months and spending all my money on new furniture to give my house a new look and always trying something new. I am one of those people who always has to have a project going on.

Now that I think about it, you might not actually find this THAT weird. But let me tell you something. I am still in school. I probably won't need to even begin looking so a place to live for almost a decade or thereabouts. So what is this obsession I have with houses? At first I thought that I just liked looking at houses and looking at rooms and interior design and stuff, but now I know that sometimes, I click onto a house JUST to see the floorplan and I often don't bother doing anything else.

But something that annoys me, possibly more than anything else in the world, is when floorplans are drawn wrong. I have seen so many where there is a door missing and so it is seemingly impossible to get into the master bedroom, or where there have been incorrect labels and you suddenly have about 4 kitchens and no bathrooms. Ugh, drives me absolutely up the wall!

The thing that I love most about floorplans is when I look at them and they are completely huge and ridiculous (Over £5 million, slightly out of my price range) and you see the master bedroom with not just one ensuite and dressing room, oh no, but about 5, just for this one room! How can you even keep track of having so many clothes. If you had kids, and they woke up in the middle of the night, you'd have to be up all night trying to find them, because you would get lost in the maze of your house. I said that I love this, and I do because I just find it so ironic and funny, because when something is so huge, how can you ever fill it? How can you ever personalize it enough to be able to call it a home?

SO, thank you very very much for reading. I feel so much better for getting this off my chest, and I really hope that I can begin to work towards solving my problem. If you know of any floorplan anonymous groups, please let me know, and until then, I am going to be taking things one house at a time.

See you soon!

P.S. This is a joke. Mostly.
