Every year, my sister and I get a stocking, and I have to say that despite being 'too old' and 'too cool' for that stuff now, I still blummin' love it! I mean, who doesn't love
waking up to a pile of presents at the bottom of their bed? You'd have to be mad if you didn't!
Father Christmas never gives me anything big in my stocking, it's normally more of a collection of small things that I love and are useful, and I thought that I would share with you what they are in case your struggling (or you know, in case Father Christmas happens to read this!).
One thing that I've received in my stocking for as long as I can remember and is one of my most anticipated gifts ever year is a box of tissues. That might sound really boring or dull, but it's not. Every year, there is a new quirky type of tissues that are so extra special, no one is allowed to use them unless it's a special occasion. I've had sweetie scented ones, and Mr Men ones (that was an amazing one, the box actually folded out to become Little Miss Sunshine! My sister got Mr Tickles!), special pretty luxury ones... the lot! I can honestly say that tissues are one of my favourite things to receive, and they are so useful because I seem to always have a cold!
Something else that I always seem to get in my stocking because it is just always useful is makeup wipes. You see, Father Christmas knows that my sister and I only like a certain type of makeup wipes by a certain brand (he is amazing that man), and they are normally too expensive for me as a cheapskate to buy (we're talking 12p a wipe, yes I did work that out), and so it's always so nice to get some dropped into my stocking.
One of my favourite gifts that I received in my stocking last year and I very much hope will be there again is a jar of chocolate spread. Chocolate spread has a very long history in my family which I won't bore you with now, but normally ends with my sister and I fighting to the death for the last scraping. Now, we each get our own separate jars in our stockings with our names written clearly on them, so there can be absolutely no confusion. Chocolate spread on toast is the only Christmas breakfast I want!
I'm one of those people who is a firm believer in the fact that you can NEVER have too many notebooks, so I always love to get a little one in my stocking, just ready and waiting for me to fill it up with my scribbles and my witterings!
Another one of my absolute favourite things to receive is a pair of fluffy socks. I love fluffy socks and wear them so so so much in the winter, and getting a new pair every year in my stocking is an absolute dream come true! Especially with all the funky colours they come in nowadays - I'll be the belle of the sleepover!
I also love to get nail varnish and nail varnish remover as I am a bit of a nail addict (despite the shockingness of my nails!). There's just something so satisfying about all the pretty colours, I just love it!
I hope that this post gave you a little insight into my mind and into my stocking and maybe gave Father Christmas a few ideas as well - quick hint, I also love chocolate oranges!
See you tomorrow!
