Today, I thought that I would share my thoughts on Frozen.
I know, I know, I need to get more original!
Let me just say this to start, I totally watched it before it was a thing. What can I say? I'm a trend setter!
I remember the first time I saw it. It was New Years Eve and myself and my mother didn't have anything to do all evening until midnight so we decided to go out to the cinema. I had a look on the website and saw that there was a new Disney movie out. Being a lover of all things Disney, we decided to go and see it. We left the cinema singing let it go.
The next thing I remember about my Frozen experience was talking about it with a few friends on the school bus on the first day back after the Christmas holidays.
After that, it was all you could see and hear anywhere.
I enjoy it, and it has a happy ending. Is it great, life changing cinema? No, not really. Is it entertaining and feel-good? Yes. Really, the best way that I can describe it is that it is such a Disney film.
However, Olaf is probably the best thing that ever happened to the world and the universe ever. He is absolutely FABULOUS and I don't know a single person who has watched it and not loved him. I mean come on people, its an adorable talking snowman? How could anyone hate him?
I think that the thing that is a bit ridiculous about it is the merchandise that has come from it. In the summer, I helped out at a holiday club for children and in my group, 5 of the little girls had completely identical frozen bags (seriously mums, name things, otherwise life is very difficult). In any shop you go in, still there are huge Frozen displays on all these incredibly over priced things that kids just have to have!
Actually as I write this, it makes me think. Do I have any frozen merchandise? Oops! Yes I do!
I'm sorry, I couldn't resist! Just look how cute it is! And it completely describes me - I love hugs!
Although, admittedly, I don't wear it out much, it's more of my sit-on-the-sofa-all-day-long-with-occasional-breaks-to-the-fridge top!
And then of course, the song. Let it go was in the UK Singles Top 75 for 63 weeks, which, you know, is quite a long time.
I do actually have the song on my phone, and it is on my 'Good Songs' playlist. I love the power of it, and I think it does have a pretty good message, although it's slightly lost on me what that is. However, my enjoyment of the song was diminished slightly by my young next door neighbour singing it all day, every day during the summer holidays.
So there we have it! My thoughts on Frozen, one of Disney's biggest movies. I've heard that there is a Frozen 2 coming out, so let us all hold our breath for that!
See you soon!
